Reccomendations for a drive unit repair - Who ?

My speaker drive unit has now shown its fault, the cone has come partially unglued from the voice coil, this allowed the cone/voice coil assembly to twist and jam hence the greatly reduced sound output. So where or who to send it to for repair. tia Tony

 

I gather the speakers have no warrently left?

Thanks for the info, No warranty, speakers are Impulse Lali circa 1996 !! although I havn`t had them long . Has anybody had any experience of drive unit repair and is it best to do both sides so thay match ?

There's a place called Wembley Loudspeakers in London that is very helpful and does such repair jobs.

 

I'd second Wembley Loudspeaker. I think that JBL's are their speciality but am not sure about that TBH.

 

The guy I use is Dave Smith at DK loudspeakers. Wilmslow use him as well.
