Hope it is okay selling music - only saw hi-fi adverts, but I would prefer these to go somewhere and be played and I really don't fancy Ebay.....

Recently I bought a large record collection from a collector who needed to reduce his collection as his wife has plans for them to move to a house boat!!

He kept his 78s and rock and roll ('50s) stuff, but the rest got sold to moi. I have gone through them to pull out the stuff I want to keep. Much of the remainder is stuff I either don't want or have never heard of.

Condition was described as "Majority are EX with some VGs"

I have not looked at every record (there is a lot!!) but I have been pleased so far. In many cases the sleeve isn't what I would call EX, or in some cases even VG, but usually the vinyl is better than the sleeve.

I took some along to an audio meet a short while back and generally the people there who bought some off me were very impressed at the condition. I am new at this though so rather than me trying to grade, what I would like to do is put up the list - if you are interested in some records, state your list and I will pull out those records and describe them best I can.

I did this and sold a batch which I posted out to a chap on another forum and he was very pleased saying my descriptions matched how he would describe - so I think I'm doing ok.

I don't really want to mess around posting 1 or 2 records, so I have the pizza box type mailers which hold upto 20 records and I would prefer to sell in batches. If orders are small, then I will have to use something to pad inside the box.

Anyway, here is the list and if anyone is interested, then I shall take a look and report back with condition etc.

Postage cost I shall use Royal Mail 1st class recorded so £6.50 for 5 records and £1 extra for each additional. Doubles count as 2 for postage purposes.

    The (long) list follows:

Hi - that is because I haven't had time to look at all the records and grade - so if you send me a list of what you fancy, I can look at them, send you a description and then agree a fair price. I am not asking silly money as I do want to try to clear my dining room!!!

Good stuff - glad to hear both happy and they arrived safe.

I will hopefully get a few more on the list over the weekend as I plan to go through my '80s rock and metal no longer played' section. I have my collection in an ikea rack, but then the older stuff I don't play is in the bottom of a cabinet with doors (so out of daylight, stored upright, etc) and the doors haven't been opened in a few years, so I know that whatever is in there can be found new homes.

    '80s rock added as promised.....

Quite a lot of '80s rock with some other stuff thrown in for good measure. Some of these still make the EX grade, but a lot don't - the sleeves are usually EX on this lot, but sadly some of the vinyl is less good with visible surface marks. If you are interested in any, postage is as with the other list of mine above, but the cost per album I will check condition of any items requested and then let you know. Average on this list will be £2 per record (plus postage) with some a little more, some less.
