Any Red Dwarf fans out there ?

I've just bought (and watched ;) ) Series 1,2 and 3 on DVD. Ahhh, the memories of a miss-spent youth  . BBC2 and UKGold seem to be showing sporadic episodes as well. Even the g/f loves it  and she's FRENCH :p.

All I need now is for "The Mary Whitehouse Experience" and "Absolutely" to follow on DVD :MILD: !

    "Luvely. Milky.Milky."

Denzil : "Gwyneth, you have a crumb on yo lip."
Gwyneth : "Denzil, you have a sausage on yors !"

Cue massive sausage stuck on Denzil's face. A total rip-off of 'Police Squad' but who cares..........they're Welsh !

"He was standin' in tha queue - just behind that Scene Conary !"

    GET TAE FALKIRK !

It's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere...

Great stuff. We'd never seen it (we'd left Australia before it came there and AFAIK it has never come to the Continent). No.1 daughter asked what it was about, so we got the DVD on spec for Amazon (cheaper than the BBC!) and loved it. We now also have Seasons 2 and 3 and Season 4 (due out in mid-February) is on order.

    Me too....

Tones - what did you think of the Time Slides episode on Red Dwarf 3?? Pure class I reckon - I'm going to have to get some of these DVDs :)

I like the Absolutely episode where Denzil's put the basement in the attic and vice versa - so messed up!

Great - but then, they're all great, so far as I'm concerned. I hear that the show lost the plot in its final seasons, but these first three seasons have been uniformly hilarious.

Yeah, Red Dwarf 8 was a bit pants, but still fun. Plus you get to see loads of Catchanski (sp??) so that makes up for weedy scripts :)

Dom, I'm sure this was down to a falling out between Rob Grant and Doug Naylor (the creators). From about Series 7 to 9 only one of them actually worked on the show !

(Not sure which though  )

    Yes it was,
not quite as quirky as the original Kochanski (Claire Grogan from Altered Images - a musical [!] group) but very watchable all the same.
BBC terrestial have quietly been showing all the series (at least 1-7) in order recently. The scheduling has been Beeb erratic (i.e. late night, some times a week) but better than the hash they have made of the Simpsons!
