Out of interest, how low does a quake go compared to the GR20s?

REL quote the Quake as going down to 23Hz "in room" but this is using their misleading +/-6dB (and you can take that as a - not a +). At the more usual +/-3dB you'd be talking nearer 30Hz - maybe a tad lower, say, 28Hz.

To give you an idea of how much difference there is between -6dB and -3dB responses, REL's Q200 used to be stated as going down to 25Hz on their website (back in the -3dB days) - now they are using -6dB it's proudly quoted as dropping to 17Hz! REL aren't the worst though - Yamaha have been known to use -10dB figures!!

So, the Quake will maybe drop to late 20's Hz in room. The GR20's, according to MA themselves, go down to 30Hz (although I can't remember whether they qualify this figure with a dB rating or state whether it's "in room".

Either way, there's not a great deal in it but the Quake might go a few Hz lower.

    Matt.
