Can you 'uptempo' the pace a bit boys, I'm entering the 'm/f phase' at the moment, so your assistance to lift one's spirits would be greatly appreicated

James, in all seriousness, down here in berks, it seems like every third bloody car on the road is either a TT or M3, which for me sadly shows the gullability of the British public and their reliance on perceived status.

Can I suggest that we invent a new range of woofers, we could use my Greyhound as a template, quite lean and rather fast.

Have you been watching too much big brother, getting ideas from Nadia. Could in fact Merlins comments about castration be a veiled hint about a M/F moment

You can't mention the TT in the same paragraph as an M3, the TT is total rubbish - for fashion victims only.

I remain amazed that you people just can't bring yourselves to admit that the M3 is a fantastic car.

James being completely honest i think the M3 is great, but just as the star belly sneeches discovered, the more starred bellys, the lower the kudos. If you dont find M3's to be commonplace then for the price point, it provides a great blend of qualities. However even here in Wiltshire the upgrade goes a little like this: Golf GTI 1.8T -> Audi TT (180) -> Audi TT (220) -> BMW 330i or Boxster 2.7 -> BMW M3 or Boxster S -> 911 Carrera. There are dozens of Carrera S and at least five Carrera GT3 in this small(ish) town already. For me - there is no point aspiring to any of these vehicles if the rare factor is a priority.

The dealer principal at the local BMW dealership is a friend of mine. He has had a M5 for a while, then a M3. Has the option of getting a 745 or X5 4.6, but what has he chosen as his fave BMW - the new 330cd - 3 litre diesel coupe. Looks great, has torque greater then the M3 and is pretty cheap to run even if you drive with your foot flat to the floor. I insist you at least look into it, even if you rule it out.

Tis no doubt a wonder to behold. Lots of woofers in many shapes and sizes I'll bet.

Q?, whats big brother?, Muiscal/fidelity (larry lethargics) moment lord, sorry.
M3's are for in the most part inadquate indivduals who strive for something they cannot personaly attain, therefore by surrounding themselves with ego enhancing toylettes. It enables them to ease the 'barron areas of their Physic and inner torment' and banish those inferiority complexes to deepest darkest part of the ID, until some out drags them at the lights :D
Then the monsters rear the ugly heads, and off we go again. humans so predicable

you've not seen them Mr P, although being close to Slough, these pussies are more likely to kill you than Julian's avatar!

James, there's only one BMW I'd consider a ZM Coupe.

Thanks greg. It's actually not 'kudos' I'm interested in: I currently run a 1996 328i, and have done for the past four years. I couldn't give a stuff what anyone else thinks - you need to be like this to drive a BMW these days. I just want a fast RWD car, and, for me, the M5/M3 seems to be the best choice.

330d interesting, but slower than what I already have.
