I don't understand this sticking 2 fingers up snobbery thing about cars and watches. Seems like the people who want to do this are insecure, and care that having a bit of cash will make them be respected. Trouble is, makes them look like they have an ego problem. People get respect by being decent, not by chav.

I was at Derriford/Freedom Fields '87-'88, then Frenchay '88-'89. I wonder if I know her. Who cares about hi-fi, cars are far more interesting.

yeah I am not knocking enthusiasts, bub, I uses to love cars as a kid, just the 4x4 attitude, or the people who think having a bmw will give them something they will never have. you can just feel the ego from some types....look at me, I have a posh car...big deal....I feel for the petrol bills, and the insecure young women with big 4x4s. substitute for breasts.
Its just to get you around, now, even up here in the idyllic north, cars no
's are growing, soon it will be gridlock.

Mrs P was at Derriford (more Greenbank) from '86 - '88, then to Nufield in Plymouth before moving to Bristol.
Maybe you do know each other.....

    PS. Bikes even more interesting:)

Yeah Dave but most Journo's seem to think Skoda were cheating and actually had the 225 engine in the first lot of press cars. BTW the figure and power to weight ratio back this up.

    Paul,

it was probably remapped, but its great for impressing me mates all the same:) (the bloke who bought it off Skoda UK posts in a Skoda bbs and claims its standard, but remapping is 10 mins on a laptop,so they could have played with it,but then again, many guys get over 190 bhp on rollers,so who knowsStandard puffy TTs keep getting wasted by us road warriors though, which is as scientific as an Autocar test imo:).Personally,i think Skoda have tweaked the map to have peak power a little over the TT and Golf T,to make the Skoda seem even faster, well thats my conspiracy theory anyway

    Commander Data,

I don't smoke, and its not me,its how i want to be perceived on the web,as a knowledgable audio bloke :)

Somehow I think Bub will see the irony in WM taking that number ;)

We still on about cars? Sideshow must be thinking of quitting the forum!

Now who's got a sub in their car? Surely an essential accessory for any Chav.

    James,

My solo drum I can't have so I don't want :) sometimes I feel you are such a sad deluded individual, that feels in animate objects are at the centre of your core universe, have you considered theropy? I'm sure you'll get a discount at work.
Cars been there, done it (with real ones) waste of time, money and effort, go and enjoy life, not sat in a jumped up muppet wagon, feeling smug
So Matt going to take your Scooby to full metal helmet shoot out on saturday?, there was quite a few when I drove past this afternoon, all waiting for a tune up, before the show down, just so that picture in the mag will show 285@wheels before no.2 pistons melts due to marginal oil feed cooling and costs yet more money for another rebuild.
M3 has one good feature the brakes, they are passable in stock form.

    Wadia

its number 3 that goes first, not number 2:) and the oil cooling theory is one of many, although the most popular, number 3 being nearest the turbo and it shares the feed from number 2
