    Yep!

Good job he's in HK - can you imagine the jokes over here :D

I'd give him a job tomorrow - just to be able to point him out to the staff.

    " Now there's err... Fannie Ting" :D

Despite the name, I've taken a chance and ordered a DAC from him, so will soon have a proper hifi again :)

I'll leave the atc monsters to give their opinion, but bub brought his most awkward sounding discs, (ones that have linn systems falling over), well if the atc gods commented on any inadequacies, thewy heard it was minor.

Over to James and Duncan, oh and please be nice guys, had a good day BTW, lets do it again soon.

Talking about bass, Merlin, when are you going to stop using your REL Strata lookalikes and get the D100s? We've been waiting for ages!

Fingers crossed, they should be here sometime next week.

Oh and you are doing the positioning when you come over I understand. Cheers for that :)

The Rel wannabes will be heading off to speaker heaven to be seriously tweaked, then I'm getting an estate car to put them in :D

i think he's scared that the bass wont be as good as with the strata wannabies. As you know, sat/subs are the best way to do things.

OK reasons not to use them:

    Neighbour has a big dog

    Floor could cave in

Could spend the money on a Feng Shui Consultant

    Reasons for trying them

    Teaching WM about dynamics :D

Oh hell, I have to try don't I? At least they will be a talking point in the block until the K2 arrives ;)

    No it's WM's bass peak Robbo ;)

Now as the millenium approaches and they call last orders at the bar, would anyone like to provide a precis of the ebb and flow of this thread? Or shall we just carry on with the gratuitous insults?

So this is what we have learnt over the course 1000 posts and many days of thoughtful debate :-

    1) big speakers are better than sat/sub combos, unless you are in portugal, in which case Rel stratas and thumbelinas kill everything else out there

    2) All BMW drivers are chavs. That includes you Dr Chav.

    3) Antonio drive hairdressers cars.

    4) Mercedes are superior to all other cars

    5) Audis are Merc wannabies/overpriced skodas depending on your viewpoint

    6) Everybody elses system is crap apart from mine.

    7) everyone who has kept this thread going just to get to 1000 posts is a sad bastard!

That'll do for now. Any more?

You forgot the discovey that Tony has an enormous lump and that you are a taxi driver and part time pizza delivery guy.

Still we've all got on :D

Oh and Tony can't count! It appears his countmeter has been tweaked to only register replies to the original post, making him the Devil everyone knew he was anyway!

    8) Huge JBLs are the Real Man's speaker, especially in very small rooms
8b) itsy bitsy satellities and sub woofers are for superannuated hairdressers
    9) Real Men don't drive: they are driven
