I was flicking through a hifi porn mag (HFN) the other day and found my self lusting after one of those isotech thor boxes to go with a new fused spur to the distrubution board. i was thinking that for say 1500 for the box and another 250 quid for the spur (it's a short easy run) it would be , the next time i have spare cash, a feasable upgrade. god i'm sad. much else would be a wholesale change so mains looks like a good bet.

must also get the TT serviced

anybody else used one of these Isotech boxes?

do you know anyone thats had a dedicated mains spur put in John?

You could ask to hear their system through the spur, and then through a normal plug socket.

Worthwhile if you're spending £1,500 ? - that could pay for a holiday in the carribean if you didnt hear the benefit!

    Sorry to speak the obvious!

maybe i'll have the holiday in the carribean as well.

bn - i wondered about that too, whether the isotech needs a seperate spur. i'd have thought the point of it was that it probably doesn't. having said the Belcanto has a habit of tripping the MCB on start up so a seperate spur might be a good idea. also it'll make a nice change not to hear the fridge switching on.

more sensible answers on a postcard please

get a slower mcb fitted, the standard is a type 2 or B, a type 3 (or c) should do the trick,if not then type D will certainly work, but get the earth loop impedance checked first

I,ve one you can borrow for a week,If you like what it does
you can have it for one hell of a lot less than £1500
obviously you would have to come and collect, the thing weighs
well over the 30KG carrier limit
If you are gong to the Show we could maybe meet up there
PM if you wish to firm up
