    Hi Markus,

I am not sure what you wish to attain by fitting a clock.

If the DEQ is operated from a digital source the clock is not used and it slaves to the transport.

If you use analog inputs you can just use a nice external wordclock (ask Martin Burmeister from FL Electronic Braunschweig)....

    Hi,

Well, i don't commercially mod these things, so I never costed it out. I don't what the S&B Transformers will end up costing either.

But at a guess, I suspect the mods would probably cost more than unit does.... :D

    Ciao T

I'm not really interested in making this a commercial venture to be honest. My soldering skills are not fast enough to make it worth my time unfortunately!

Tony if you want to do these mods you are most welcome. I will give you details on exactly what I do when I have finished doing it!

Nick I will happily mod your DEQ and or DCX if you give me some pocket money!

Having thought about it a bit more, I can't commit to this as a commercial venture as I can't guarantee to have the time. However, if you want the mods done, send me a message and I will see how my diary stands. I might be able to fit them in here or there.

No hurry - I will only do it if I put the deq in the analog chain - as i plan to find the deq into my PT dac when it returns.

BBV I meant that message to everyone. I will do yours for you. If someone else wants the mods then PM me and I'll see if I have the time. It's always nice to have a little money now and then but I can't say I will always be able to thats all.

    Simon,
    I'm touting for work LOL!!!
Have more than enough to keep me going and then some!!!
    Plus development takes time
Oh and a small matter of a new demo facillity to sort out!!!
Its easy work anyway, I'm sure even Nick can manage it.

Wm - my soldering is terrible. By a cruel trick of nature I was born with trotters instead of hands.

I disconnected the original analogue outputs today now that I know the mod worked. It sounds EVEN better. There was about 1dB more bass than before though! I guess because the DAC is now not loaded the same the frequency response changed? Either way, the bass is stronger and tighter and the imaging is slightly better once again.

    Hi Tenson,

I suspect it would be somewhat impractical for me to send the DEQ to you for mods. Would it be possible to provide some 'instructions for thickies', preferably with big colourful pictures?

    Thanks,

    Stuart.

Maybe I will see what I can do. I have a fair few projects on the table at the moment so the power-supply upgrade in the DEQ will wait for a bit.

Do you have a transformer pre-amp? If so, then I can give you details on what I have done so far.
