    Meridian G08

Has anyone tried the new meridian G08? ~Ive had one on demo for a couple of days and whilst its a superb machine with bags of detail i couldnt help but feel its lost something that the 588 had... almost in the same way that Arcam has with the FMJ CD33 vs the 23 Its a big sounding very smooth machine but im wondering if with upsampling some sort of connection with the music is lost... It could just be me i hasten to add! its a while since i owned the 588 hence im interested if anyone has had a similar experience.. It could also be down to the fact ive spent a week with a naim CDX 2 which is at the other extreme...

Hawk Yes it's just so nice :( welcome to the 'new generation players' life is missing from these lastest efforts, still for the £2500 or so a top notch used cdp could be had, me I'm more than happy with my 98 vintage player yet to find a one that is acceptable out of box  shame really.
