RIP HFC Forums?

Looks like HFC forums really have lost it now. Anyone who has been around the past couple of days and seen what's been going agree?

 

Anyone care to enlighten me as to what happened? Is it just Lim going off on one?

 

yup it was lim, but personal insults beyond belief

i for one found his comments most offensive

 

i was having a reasonable back and forth with lim regarding remote controls in amplifiers and i go there this morning to find that and about 10 other pages had been deleted. can anyone enlighten me as to what went on?

it seemed to start when davewhit made a comment that he preffered crost amps over lim's, lim came back with some quite derogatory commenst on croft, i think dave then said that he thought croft would be interested in lims comments. next thing was lim saying that he understood dave had cancer and wished he would die soon!
he was very harsh and out of line with his comments, showed no remorse and kept posting that he wished dave a painful death, even tho many people had asked lim to retract the comments
he also went of at mad hippy and threatened him, oh and me - apparently i am a pratt because i didnt buy one of his amps

 

oh dear,

looks like the admins need to look into removing lims posting priveleges.

 

Jules, the thread you see now with the same title was started by Lim again this morning after the old one was deleted by Jake. I think he pasted some of the old one into the new, hence they probably look similar.

I am a heckling bully :MILD: apparently too.

 

I made a quick visit over there and it looks like it is kicking off again

 

Anyone in contact with Free Willy? Maybe he'd like to get involved.

sounds like lim IS free willy. or maybe it's a twin peaks / bob type of thing.

It's all a bit sad really. I usually accord a healthy dose of scepticism to anything where the poster felt the need to write it in huge blue lettering. I think lim is probably standing on quicksand rather than rock.

And we thought it was bad before Christmas? I hope that such behaviour doesn't result in the end of the HFC forum, but it does seem to have deteriorated quite a bit since we all left when the forums closed last Christmas.

 

Is there a url to his site, I must but his stuff now !

 

according to lim im a long haired dope smoking pratt,but then again you all know that. free willys outbursts looked quite tame compared to the comments lim made towards dave,and in my opinion he should be baned from the forum,unfortunatley as he regulary advertises in the mag i cant see it happening

I too can back up what's been happening on the HFC forum. Out of order stuff. I had be contributing on a few of the threads but they just went crazy. Wishing someone dead with cancer is not on. (Lim did this quite a few times.) I'm surprised that he hasn't been banned.

He is not doing his business any favours. Getting people to buy valve amps isn't easy. The way to do it is to let people listen & compare. That way people will understand the strengths (& weakness) of the various designs.

It would be interesting to see what happens.

well in a desperate bid to find a new argument I tried getting in. Alas the whole website seems to have gone down.

 

its fine - its just veerrrrrryyyyyyyy slow sometimes - well quite often actually.

Can't actually say i've had any probs over on HFC, It's still my fave place to hang out although i have been getting some very good advice recently over on PFM, especially regarding all things LP12 and vinyl stuff in general. In fact all of the forums seem to be pretty neat right now, (including Zero) i think you will always get the odd individual who is spoiling for a spat, i would imagine this trend to increase over the next few weeks until the new school term starts in Aug/Sept.

HFC certainly doesn't seem to have reached such a low point whereby the whole forum was closed down due to hassle and bad blood.

 

To be honest I'm much happier here now that I have been for a long while at HFC. That sort of thing would have rightly been stamped upon, locked and dumped into the Kindergarten here. They absolutely don't care on HFC.

I will refrain from giving my personal opinions about Lim here, as I have at HFC, but lets just say they are not to favorable.
