A sad day Dev. The guy was both a genius and driven like no other to further the art at whatever cost. IMO the master, hopefully he has passed the baton on.

I am very sad about this news. It has always been a privilege and pleasure to meet and learn from Kondo San.

    hi,

Very sad news indeed. One of the greats in hifi.

I've always been a fan of his stuff. The Io cartridge is an item that I have always admired. The Onguku was the amp that helped to kick start the return to single ended amps. It was the amp that got me on the single ended trail.

I remember seeing him at a hifi show in the late 90's. It was the time of the ill-fated partnership with Marshall amps.

I remember being bowled over when I first heard the Onguku at the Bristol show in the late 80s/early 90s. It made other systems sound broken.

I like the style of his latest stuff still turned heads (and ears)

Maybe his son will carrry his work.

    RIP Hiroyasu Kondo
