I have just acquired a pair of Rodgers LS 35A speakers. They have matching serial numbers and the Rodgers QC/Test labels are still attached to each speaker. The front panels are perfect but one of the cabinets has a few light marks to the wood finish. The marks are not deep they just discolour the veneer(?).I could easily refinish the surfaces with a very fine rub-down and polish or varnish but I am not sure if I should. If I decide not to keep them,I really haven't made up my mind yet, will refinishing affect any value attached to them? Opinions would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Pete.

I'd say that yes, potentially refinishing them could reduce resale value but only if it detracts from the original type of finish. So restoring say a walnut veneer to something that looks close to original would be fine, but if you were to wax and buff them to a very high shine you risk folk labelling them as non original. Same as if you stained them to look obviously different to standard walnut, teak and rosewood veneers.

Hook them up to something like a Radford STA15 and prepare to be astonished!
