I'm tempted to try a Naim Nait 3 amplifier as I fancy a change. However, what I can not ascertain as whether the Nait 3 would be an upgrade over my existing Rotel amp.

If it is an improvement over the Rotel, what kind of improvements will it bring?

    Cheers

Those are a bit rare though arent they?

Also what improvement can I expect? More detail? Punchier bass?

LOL WM, but surely the 1062 will sound very similar anyway to the RA-01 ;)

No doubt about that... probably even better.

It just happens that the Yammies may need the extra current. Today I'll try the RA-01.

Do you think if we all ignored BD he'd go away? I'm going to start a trend and use the ignore poster button. I'll let you all know how I get on. I don't think I'll miss much

No it doesnt, and I've just had a look at the picture of the back, and it doesnt even appear to have a tape loop to plug the headphone amp into. In which case, its no use to me...

One of those din plug thingies will be a tape loop. It definitely has one. Why not PM Dom he has a Nait 3. I'm sure he'll be able to help you out

They all appear to be labelled "input" though, unless I'm missing something here...

They're DIN, so they can contain an output as well as an input on one connector.

If you look very carefully at that pic, you'll see it shows the pin connection with the tape outputs on the right hand side of the connection and says in brackets (inputs 4 and 5 only), so that suggests it has two tape loops.

You just need a DIN to dual phono lead (one set of phonos for output to the headphone amp, another for input from a source). http://www.flashbacksales.co.uk will sell you one for not very much money.

Not sure it'll be much of an upgrade from the Rotel, but if you spot one secondhand for the right price at least you'll be able to sell it on without losing anything if you're not keen on it.

Try a Rega integrated too if you get the chance.

Ok my friends... I just have turned on the RA01, better emotional response and subjectively it seems more accurate than the 1062, but it can be my imagination because I really want to believe in it at half of the price of the latter and after all I said... No problem with the Yammies though.

I will null test the RA01 and then I'll know if it is my imagination...
