I have a pair of unused S&B TX102 MkIII transformers. Bought here as part of a group buy organised by Tenson towards the end of 2006. Never did get around to building the dream pre. It would have been good to compare it to the Promitheus TVC which has taken up residence in the rack. I will leave that pleasure to someone else.

As you can imagine, they absolutely mint, like the day I received them. Yours for £140+p&p.

Shamsur. Great trannies. The S&B trannies embarass the Promitheus trannies. IMHO built the kit. You will be happy you did. The Promitheus is good but the S&B is another leauge IMHO.
For anyone interested in a TVC this is a great deal. Good luck.

    Rollo,

I think Steve might have meant that for Riverdog. YHM = You Have Mail/Message.

    anubisgrau,
Good luck with trannies. my buddies built two Passives with the S&B trannies. The attenuator made all the difference in their pieces sound. Both units were built with shielded wood enclosures, copper RCAs [ vampire ] wired with John Chapmans wire [ Bent]. Both used Shallcos best attenuator also from Bent. There are better as you know, just buy the best one available. Have fun.

i know, don't worry. shallco doesn't sound good. there are military NOS siemens switches from the 70s that rock but they are rare. i am seeking to find a proper, copper made switch - not silver or copper plated zync or whatsoever - just a good, plain copper one and that's it. wooden box with an open top (for listening) is essential. it's easy to build a TVC that would kill anything ready made. but i don't wanna build a TVC, I need trannies to try something with my altmann BYOB
