Was there ever mention of the 2011 event on the Chester Group web site?
The last event gets a mention but there is nothing at all about anything in 2011.

I couldn't tell you Rob. What I would say is that Chester Groups promotion of last years show was very low key in my opinion. Having said that, attendance figures seemed pretty healthy for a one day event; certainly very much better than attendance at the Manchester show over the last couple of years (it's difficult to see how that show can continue IMHO).

Whilst I am intending to attend next years show (assuming there is one), it will purely be as a visitor; I have no intention of showing anything, either as a member of the trade or an enthusiast.

Yup, but the whittlebury Hall show is an entirely different thing to the one at Scalford Hall.

In fact, it could hardly be more different.

There has never been a problem with the Whittlebury Hall show, that is now the national show. The shows that are cancelled are Manchester and Scalford.

Send him an email back and ask him Nando.

I attended the Whittlebury show last year. Whilst it was interesting (in a regular trade show sort of way) the sound quality was, for the most part, poor; and in some cases extremely poor.

    LOL

Yes, I think that unless exhibiting, the bar and social side is the best reason to go these days.

I wonder how many people enjoy the traditional shows these days?

I used to love them years ago in my teens and twenties but now I just seem to get bored with them very, very quickly,to the point that I now attend the Bristol show with friends and we set a time limit for the show of about 90 minutes and then spend the rest of the day in the pub.

Is it just me, or do others wander around these events praying to see something genuinely new and different?

I blame the blue led myself. Everything seemed to go tits-up when shows went blue :)

Yes, I too sat in the bar with friends (well outside actually) - it probably was the best bit of the show :).

Too many shows in a decreasing market, perhaps if there were just one UK Audio show?
