    Anyone heard the album?

Can it possibly be as good as I'm expecting from the samples I've heard?

I'd made a note of his name a while back and have only just followed up on it.... http://www.scottmatthewsmusic.co.uk/enterm.html

and his myspace site features the track "Elusive", which first caught my attention. http://www.myspace.com/scottmatthewsmusic

Obvious comparisons are Drake and Buckley. Comes from a similar vocal camp to the husky one from Gomez.

Sounds really promising and I'll be getting the album asap. I suggest y'all do the same!

Yes its very good, I got a promo from Vinyl Exchange in Manchester a few months ago (for £5!) and its been a constant play. Mark Radcliffe had him on his show a couple of months ago and he was very good indeed.

Listening to the album now and it is indeed very good so far.

I notice he lists Chris Cornell and Soundgarden as influences on Myspace. There's something in the voice which reminds me of his.
John Martyn also gets a mention and there's some signs of his influence on here too.

There's someone/something else which this really reminds me of too, but can't put my finger on it.

Highly recommend anyone reading this check's out the samples or searches for him to hear others.

As I said in the OP there's obvious comparisons with Jeff Buckley, but there's someone else too that I can't put my finger on.

Thanks for the links Mark, I'll give them a listen....
