Yes is was. The team with better defenders won over 2 games. Best of wishes for the final.

Liverpool defended superbly and thankfully proved Abramovich can't buy every trophy.

Come on Liverpool for the final.

I'm glad, I am a liverpool fan, but tbh, chelsea were the better more creative side, it was the greek school of football which I don't really enjoy.

    bizarre goal.

It would be nice for chelsea to have gotten both.Still come on reds for Istanbul.

I hope arsenal win the fa cup, not the manc. twats :D

I so hope L'Pool win the Europen cup and Aresnal the FA cup. Then Ferguson will have to accept that the demise of the RAGS is not down to others 'buying' success but down to his approaching senility causing him to lose the plot!

I was actually getting ready to go to work and so only managed to catch glimses of the match. I have video'd it though. I saw the goal and my first impression was that had the ball not 'gone in' then Chelsea would have been in real trouble by conceding a penalty and losing their 'Keeper. I felt that the Ref was playing some kind of advantage to Liverpool in this respect and erring in Liverpools favour on a debatable decision.

It's good to see Liverpool at the top of the tree again after all these years however i also have a soft spot for Chelsea maybe it's because John Terry, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole are 3 of my fave England players at the moment...

I'll need to watch my vid' when a completely wake up.......

    script for scouser fairy tale:
Liverpool win European Champions' League Trophy
fail to qualify for entry for 2005/6 competition
Everton enter qualifying rounds *and* progress to main competition
Liverpool qualify for and eventually win UEFA Cup, and hence enter European Champions' League
draw against Everton, and beat them in extra time
go on to successfully defend Trophy in final

    scary fairy tale!!

    Eh?
Since when did winning the UEFA cup get you into the champions' league?

Congrat's to Liverpool for last night. Two of my closest friends are Liverpool and Chelsea supporters, so it's been amusing watching them argue.

What about tonights match though?

Its was a goal for sure, his left was on the line and unless he is a contortionist the ball was over the line

the Times had a computer image showing the ball wasn't fully over the line but they had his left foot about 8 inches away from where it actually was
