I have a Rega P9 turntable that I use constantly and a superb Rega Elicit amp that I don't but may use it to form a second system.

Does anyone have any recommendations for servicing both items? Is it back to the dealer or is there an alternative?

There isn't much need to service the turntable at all.

Same goes for the amp if it is less than 10 to 12 years old.

Just ask your local Rega dealer for a replacement drive belt. As for the amp, when I asked Rega about service the reply was, if its working, its working, leave it at the.

The amp is about ten years old but I am reluctant to sell it as it such a good amp. Needs leaving on all the time now or I get no sound for about twenty minutes when it's first turned on.

The turntable is in constant use. Does the bearing oil not need changing every once in a while or the belt changed?

Yes change the belt, as I said above, your Rega dealer will either have them in-stock or get you one. If the amp is playing up then take it to the dealer, he will send it back to Rega for sorting.

Have you seen the new elecit?

Rega are pretty good when it come to servicing.

They looked at my preamp a few years ago, I think it was away for two weeks, £35.

I have seen the new elicit. If it's an improvement on the old one it will be a great amp. When I got mine a good few years ago I demo'd it against too many amps to mention and it was by far the best sound per pound. Very highly reviewed at the time but back then if you wanted an amp at that cost it was compulsory to go down the two box road! I took a punt and have had more than ten years of pleasure from it.

Thank you for the servicing tips
