Just interested to know if MOst people here tend to use electric, or wet shave?

I prefer the convenience of an electric shaver, but despite having tried quite a few, have never been really happy with any of them.

I've tried brauns, philishaves and remingtons.
I've tried single, double and triple heads in both flat and circle form.

All tend to be ok, but fail when it comes to the neck and leave me blotchy and with missed hairs.

However, I've been using a Remington MS5700 Titanium Definition Shaver, for a MOnth or so now and have to say it's rather good.

It's not perfect, it still doesn't do the underside of the chin with the ease I'd hope. But still, it's leagues ahead of anyhting I've tried before.

I've had zero irritaion off it, it's washable, feels and looks great, and has a great long hair trimmer.

It's perhaps also a bit loud, but apart from that, highly recommended. Especially at the prices I've seen it for online! I paid £100 for mine, but they can be had for half that!

wet, Gillette Mach 3, only once possibly twice per week and just love the feeling of 'going shabby' on in between days. Could never live with a beard long term though.

Have tried electric shavers in the past but they are no substitute for the feel of of cold wet steel.......

Just shaved for the first time in just over a week, which is what prompted me to write this. I can happily live with a bit of shab, but like you, not long term though.

I tend to just use the long hair trimmer on the neck and to tidy up my sidies, then the foils for the cheeks and lip.

Mach 3, Gillette won the battle and no messing. I have the one with the battery in which makes a big difference.

I got given one of them wilkinson quatros, was bloody useless in comparison.

I tried the electric shave thing but it was a hassle.

Never say that. If you fark your face up now you will regret it when it counts. Todays shaver technology should insure a smooth face for years to come.

Don't use crap get a mach three, Paul you have been warned.

Shaving immediately after a shower can help a great deal and give the shaving gel time to soak in.

Gillette too although I'm happy with Sensor Excell II I think it is. Don;t feel the need for a Mach 3 and have found Wilkinson Sword too sharp and suffered cuts.

The bits that help the most though are humidity so I always shave in the shower and use a hand-mirror to see what I'm doing. That and good shaving gel. This all makes a big contribution to a comfortable shave for me.

Always make sure your face is warm, this is a given. Never shave when first waking as the face is puffy, best to do it at night if you can get away with it.

Technology is so far advanced now that the fact of the matter is aftershave does not even sting my face (quite a nice sensation actually) anymore, even though I get a super clean face. The fact is shaving is a bit easy nower days provided you are prepared to spend a few quid in the first place.

Pay cheap for 'blue 2' disposables and the like, then fair enough, its your face.

I did not know they still sold Shavers as I'd thought Smith's had banned it from the top shelf a good few years ago :D

'leccy for me - i always end up nicking myself with a wet shaver. not incrediby hairsuite anyway so tricky areas like the neck aren';t much of a problem - a dab of talc on your face helps to smooth an electric razor over your face and stop irritation too.

Some of you gillette fans may be interested in this.

Only had a quick skim through it, so not really sure what the fuss is about. But that's perhaps down to not knowing what the point in this technology is?

Get with the times Mo, Tescos has been using these on many of their products for over a year now.

growing a full beard, and occasionally doing the stubble thing, saves time and worry, and disputes about bathroom use. then if you really want to enjoy a wet shave go get it done - its then a real treat!
