I have divised away of avoiding it, when the adverts come simply switch over to another channel for a couple of minutes then hopefully when you have switched back the new programs come on.

Or you could just turn the sound off during it.

I am amazing the advertising standards agency haven't put a stop to this.

The problem with that though is that it seems to be on every channel!

the advertising stds agency like a lot of agency's in this country are useless.

largely a toothless dog, they let some disgusting ads go on, and I hate ads, so I hate the asa, as they don't do what they are there for, to stop bad ones.

they only do if they get a lot of complaints, so anything goes till people complain.

they should vet them and stop them before they go out.

    er
i dont see what is discusting about the add. Why should it involve the standards agency?
Annoying to most of us yes, but it is obviously working or the peopple concerned would not pay the ad fee's.

Why are they useless? The ad may be annoying but the ads have done their job. They have helped to make the company a lot of money through the ring tones. What is digusting about it?

Ads are there to make money, it is one way the tv companies use to get income. People watch tv and may or may not act on the ads.

The frog ads are popular. People have gone and bought the ring tone or downloaded the tune or other ring tones. They have made the money.

If you really don't like the ads, don't watch them! Do what AT does, switch channels.

Ads are vetted so that they meet the guidelines. Sometimes come ads are close to limits of the guide lines and the public can complain. If you feel that strongly about why don't you complain to the ASA.

Everything doesn't go on our ads. If you see ads from around the world you will see how tame our ads can be. You are sounding parnoid.

There is a thing that offers very good censorship for the telly. It's called a on/off switch.

very satisifying, 87.5. When advert on, hit mute button, sorted.
Don't get me started on the ASA, Lt Cdr Data, really don't! In my view the Diamond car insance ads should be banned under sex descrimination, really don't get me started!
