what I mean is a small speaker will either be inefficient and have decent bass extension,  or of normal efficiency but with seriuosly curtailed bottom end.


If the small speaker is a sealed cabinet, these characteristics will be even more to the fore, but none of this stops small speakers being entertaining. It's just that if you want efficiency, power handling and extension, you will need something else.


NB. I sit 8ft from some very large loudspeakers in a small room. It's fun!
