    driving about this morning the best thing was the briliant sinshine, big puddles of dead snow and the fields and hedgerow steaming away. lovely.

    No snow here - Aberystwyth has a strange microclimate apparently, it rarely gets very cold and pretty much never snows. It just rains a lot :(

    I Spoke to my dad this morning, there's snow in Wolverhampton. Yesterday he picked up his new car, a Subaru Legacy estate, then this morning drove to work in the snow. He now wonders why ever car doesn't have permanent four wheel drive!

    Yep...no snow here in Pembrokeshire either. The gulf stream clips us here in west Wales and keeps it cosy. Is it the gulf stream or just some air stream or other. Either way it rarely snows. Last winter we had some good days though.

    Sledging tip: Fill a big orange survival bag with snow...takes a few minutes with the shovel. Sit on top and point down the slopes. The weight makes for a great ride.
