So Kevin Keegan finally leaves football. I'd like to say thank-you for giving us 4 years of premiership football. Stability that no-one else managed. I'd also like to thank him for 1 season of sublime football a few years ago, when we swept all before us in Division 1.
I'm sure all Liverpool, Newcastle and City fans will join me in wishing him well in his slightly premature retirement

Unfortunately I fear he's not going to get the credit he deserves, that crash on superstars was fantastic!

Seriously, football fans have very short memories, they forget Newcastle were relegation contenders in the old second division, they had a shed of a ground and their star player came from some obscure S.American banana plantation (I cant remember his name but was quite good in the old 2nd div). It wasnt that long ago Fulham propped up the old 3rd division before KK spent Harrods money wisely, and he's done well at City under hard circumstances. And let not forget the contributions he's made to the hi-fi world, his reviews in Hi-fi News are unique to say the least.

But, I hate him, he stole shearer and thats one thing I'll never forgive, I loved that man, a love only a man and his favourite footballer can enjoy and Id love it absolutely love it if he doesnt win another round of golf.

Being from Sunderland, I suppose I should wish that he gets boils on his bum, and terminal piles.

It's hard to ignore his contribution to the football world though.

    Good luck in retirement Kevin.

    :D

    Made me happy :p

Did a fantastic job at Newcastle, although everyone always seems to remember a managers' final days, at which point he'd done as much as he could and we were due some fresh thinking.

Yes well at least we, erm, hmmmmmm, nope down-hill from there on in. I thought I found the real thing again in Duffer, could I be lucky enough to find true footballer love twice in my lifetime.......I hate chelsea, I hate footballers full stop, I'll never love again.

The newcastle days were fantastic, Ive never seem such a highly-strung manager, those 7 goal thrillers, sky interviews, fan confrontations on the steps, tino asprilla, ginola's goals, love it, just love it. Digressing slightly, the funniest thing was the bloke on the big breakfast who had an andy cole tattoo done on his leg just days before he was sold to man utd, now that was funny.

I was still at school on that day. Everyone was in mourning - Andy Cole was at his peak and was being sold  Turned out to be a good decision though - he started losing it as soon as he went to Man U :)

Heavens - I saw the thread title and though that perhaps Ken Kessler had been strangled by his own moustache. :D

Go to Spain and play golf. Be tempted out of retirement by someone else in a couple of years time, have another few glorious years, then once again not know how to sustain it.

Want to punt a tenner on the chance of a big return?
Put it on Ferreira, the Brazil coach, as the next MCFC manager.
You saw it here first folks.

The next MCFC manager, it'll be.................

Stuart Pearce. We've got no money to tempt someone like that
