Murray - in your opinion for your music taste. The systems you admire would fail utterly at playing half of my record collection. Which is unacceptable to me. I want the music reproduced as it is. Not a system that can just play a very small range of music and adds a lot of its own character that you seem addicted to. That may be what you like but it isnt "high fidelity". Before you start - I dont just listen to thrash.

. Try listening to some more kit - it will give you an even bigger shock than the one you got from comparing the sme (an average deck) to the linn (a **** poor one). Perhaps you should have learnt something from the experience rather than just shifting religion?
