there is something to be said for marks and spark's prawn mayo sarnies however they aren;t the pinacle.
smoked salmon and cream cheese with black pepper on a fresh chewy bagel is also close but no cigar.

grand prize has to go to the great bacon, egg and mushroom baguette. the egg just the right sidfe of runny. the bacon not too crispy but dry enough so you don;t pull half of it down your front when you take a bite and the mushrooms cut into fat slices and fried. mmmmmm add a dash of salt, pepper and brown sauce (not too much though) and oh yes.

    cheers

    Chip butties are cool.

As are hot beef stotties, and also lamb stotties with mint gravy, mmmm.

For cold sarnies though, my favourites gotta be the good old northern ham and peese pudding sandwich. Lurvely!!!

It just has to be Coronation Chicken ;)

Closely followed by Chicken and Bacon and then Bacon and Egg.

My favourite at the moment is sausage, cheese and onion sandwich... absolutely ideal.

Nice thick bread (the kind you have to slice yourself rather than the sawdust-like stuff our village shop sells. 2 or 3 sausages cooked, sliced in half, a little brown sauce, then some cheese melted on the top and then add some raw onions... mmm I'm getting hungry now.
