yeah, it wasn't that bad - but it was in the middle of Lancaster (sorry to burst your bubble!) in some halls of residence...

brings back beautiful memories of my lady and I - we'd be standing out there (on the balcony) chatting with a glass of wine...it's also the same location of where I took the above pics of the swans...;)

thanks! sadly I don't do it for a living - but I just love animals and i'm lucky that where I live there happens to be loads of them (not the swans tho!) and I just about always take my camera when I'm out and about...

Some nice work there, strong compositions and good results.

    What's your "new camera"?

cheers - my new camera is a humble panasonic dmc-fz7 - I of course had to use a tripod when taking the pic of the moon...

Do you ever get fine horizontal lines on your pics with the FZ7? Occasionally (like maybe 1 in 40 pics) I get this odd effect which I can only guess is a fault with my particular camera. Can't really describe it, but when you view the pic 1:1 it's very obvious.

I'm finding my FZ7 quite fussy with regard to lighting conditions, but then I don't use a tripod and haven't really go the hang of full manual mode so feel obliged to let it automatically adjust the aperture and shutter speed. Low light pics can be really noisy/grainy, disappointingly so. With good lighting conditions the picture quality is just excellent...!

I haven't noticed any lines - tho I was out in a resturaunt and tried to take some pics with the flash - the results weren't that good - even with some noise removal software I wasn't too happy with the results...

I find that for darker shots its best to have a tripod!

Do you mean a hubble panasonic dmc-fz7? I swear that picture was on the front of my science book 6 years ago.
