Having just looked over the sub on a slab thread I wondered if any special treatment might be recommended for a sub installtion on a hardwood floor over concrete ?

And what about the difference between forward firing or downward firing subs, do they need different treatment ?

    Thanks

I found that the distance between the (downward-firing) driver and the plinth (isolated from the floor using three cones) made quite a big difference. A close setting had a faster, tighter bass whereas when I extended the subs feet with spikes the bass was much warmer and boomier. The first setting was preferable to me.

However, no slab was even boomier still.
