Giant squid grabs London audience

 

Maybe I read it wrong, but it sounds like...

"YAY! these are really rare, lets catch one, kill it and put it on show"

I'd also thought they had never been seen alive before, and only ever when washed up dead.

 

I expect the squid was caught as a biproduct of trawling for fish off of the Falkland's. I would not think it had been stalked or targeted by this fishing boat as is rather a hard job catching photgraphs of Architeuthis at the best of times.

 

Aren't they the things out of "Deep Rising"? If so, be afraid - be VERY afraid, as "They drink you... they drink you ALIVE!"
