    Hi Colin,

    no probs, the stands are made of steel, and currently filled with kiln-dried sand. Due to the large base, they're very sturdy as well.

    There is also a narrow column running through the stand to hide speaker cable, which I fund useful.

    If the stands are posted I will of course need to remove the sand. Its available cheap enough though.

    If your ok can I check my speaker base size tonight but I am very interested.I am quite happy for you to keep your sand , I still have two tubs of soundbytes that I use.I'll confirm details tonight in fact if I can find details of my speakers on line at lunch today I will confirm later ok
