    Hmm, now let's see. A new battery costs £20-45, an upgrade after one year from £0 (provided you are happy with an end of line handset).

    Upgrading for a more modern handset or smartphone is another story :D.

    Should you decide to buy a new handset then, a good battery is still a worthy consideration :rolleyes: Hope though you'd get a better, longer lasting battery that'd be compatible with whatever handset of your choice :)

    Thanks Mike, do you know how to determine whether the phone has the second version of the firmware? and if it's possible to upgrade it?

    I'll check out the SonyEricsson site.
