I've had this machine for around 5 years now and as SACD has died on it's arse and I don't own that many SACDs I wondered if I'd be better getting another player that would outperform it for CD playback.

I by far prefer vinyl but I'd like to get the best out of my hundreds of Cds.

    Any tips/advice/suggestions?

    Thanks

Only what I could get for the Sony and a few hundred quid more max, so around the 1000-1200 GBP mark.

Have you thought about having it modified? I acquired one of these specifically to have the Vacuum State mods (which I had previously on a 555). Well worth considering. Chevin Audio will do it and I can recommend Colin highly. You can also convert the 777 to balanced, although I have not gone that route yet. You can find reviews on the Chevin Audio and Vacuum State sites.

If you do decide to sell, how much would you be asking for it;)?
