nice looking phone but not the step up over the p800 that the 800 was over the r380s. the little keyboard is nice but i'd worry about snapping it with my meaty paws.
still it offers the best compromise between pda and phone yet made. doubt ifi'll spring for one unless my 800 goes pop or gets lost!
    cheers

only real upgrade (apart from the better screen) is the ability to use MS Duo Pros...

*imagines what he could to with a 1gig MS* :)

...and the physical keyboard on the reverse of the keypad which is quite an improvement. People who've used it suggest it's a lot easier to use than it looks.

I must admit, the 910 looks impressive, bnut it's a bit of an overkill for me personally. Can you guys recommend something simpler. All I'm after is a phone and an organiser (i.e. something that can sync with Outlook for contacts and appointments). I've used Nokia 6210, 7210, 6600 and Sony-Ericsson T68i and they ALL only store part of the address for contacts. Some overseas addresses can be quite lengthy.

    Sorry about hijacking the thread.

I'm interested in Sony Ericsson 910i but really a Motorola V3 is more suitable for me , being thinner and lighter.
My main usage is simply as a phone. :MILD:

    dev,
to be honest i've not come across another phone that stores as much info as the p800 / 900 / 910, possibly the orange spv or the o2 xda but they are just as much overkill as the sony/ ericssons.
    cheers

I've looked at the XDA and as you mentioned, its just as much of an overkill as the other phone mentioned above. A couple of guys had them at work and they had an Ethernet, WiFi and a GSM card for them and could run Telnet etc. I thought that was just so sad, trying to read the small display and type commands.

if you have a laptop, Id reccomend a 3g datacard.. although of course this isnt as portable as a PDA.

if i could be arsed i could set up my squeezebox to be controlable via my phone. but sadly (or perhaps thankfully) the arsedness just isn't present.
are there any decent 3g phones out yet? i had a brief soujourn with a t68 between my r380 and p800 and i don't think i could go back to something whithout a touch screen.
    cheers

    Julian,

none at present that Im aware of.

product training is somewhere between lousy and non existant in my company however!

    :S

nb 3b coverage whilst expanding is mainly london, birmingham and manchester at present. 3g cards revert to gprs speeds when out of 3g coverage (like bedford Id imagine)

i looked on the '3' site a while ago and i think my village was just about covered for video calling - i would be right on the edge though so i'd probably be s.o.l.
    cheers
