That is why I cited, just as an example, the crusades. However, many of the other groups you mention merely use religion as an excuse for violence whereas whole countries are not normally governed by crazed religious mullahs such as we find with islam.

I also wholeheartedly agree with you on the AIDS situation in Africa - the catholic church should be brought to book over that one. I could say that my feeling is we should not have a situation where the people in power make the decisions based on a beleif, rather than good judgement.
