Sorry for my spammyness of late, my post count will decrease from this week I promise (busy with loads of stuff)

Anyway is their forums you visit that are just full of egos but you are really interested in the band or whatever but because of nik picking and almost online bullying (so if its too strong a word) it puts you off?

Zerogain is one of the few forums this dosn't happen much as well as a couple of student ones but I have noticed a lot band sites tend to full of arguments.

Do people just use the internet as a cowardly way of picking on people?

    tut tut silly Geordies :p

Actually they may object to me because I setup a website about Manchester Music but I suppose I wasn't there during much of the stuff I have written about. I just hope I have not posted any pictures with me on there so they don't spot me :(

Hmmm - AT, do you read the same ZG as I do? . I think hifi forums are rife with "online bullying" and ZG is no exception allthough it's better than some. It probably has something to do with the fact that hifi is such a subjective thing. There is no "truth" and sometimes people who've spent a bundle on their kit get a little sensitive if their choices are questioned. It's all down to insecurity reallly and hifi forums show up the insecure very quickly :)

Yeah but a lot of it just banter. It dosn't seem personal as such in the way it is on soom forums. I try and keep out of the very high end (no names mentioned) stuff verses Ikea arguments.

I find it people come on here to be helpful rather than look for arguments. I suppose some people feel the need to defend why they have spent £50k on a HIFI but it is their money so really he cares if people want to pay a certain Scottish bloke £8000 for speaker cable :p?

Is he Scottish? Doesn't make a blind bit of difference but I'd assumed RA was English.

AT - didn't you post a picture of yourself recently standing in front of, I think, a mens club in Salford?

It was Salford Lads Club founded by Eden Powel (founder of the boy scouts) and the place was made famous by The Smiths.

I will be a typical southerner now (Manchester is down south in UK terms) and admit that RA ais based in the Lake District up north, up north is Scottland :p Actually I should know better than that, and he probably isn't a scott.

PS What made you think I was talking about RA? :p

    Can't imagine!

You remind me, I need to look into buying some more Smith's stuff. I've only got a volume two of one of their greatest hits compilations and the moment, which is great, and at the very least ought to find volume 1 on eBay sometime!
