Is that a Morch Joel? so no holes or slots at all, just a strap over the top? Wow, whodathunk :)

I like the Clearaudio approach meself. I'm surprised its not more copied.

Yes, it is. A UP4 to be exact. THe lack of holes, anything in fact came as a bit of a shock, but there are reasonably good reasons for doing it like this. The arm is made from a single piece of aluminium and so is incredibly light and rigid.
The area of cart actually attached to the arm can be minimised and arm/cart resonances mimimised to a degree.
Look really closely at the second photo in my post above at the design of the cart. Look at how and where it is actually attached to the headshell. There's something almost revolutionary there...

< southern genelman accent > Why, that's my Lyra, Lee :)

    And from the archives...

Notice the subtle difference from the Lyra in how the DV17 is mounted to the headshell.

    Ahaa.....I see ;-)

Back on topic......fitted a Kuzma Stogi S to my Interspace tonight, needs some further fettling but initial results are excellent. I would certainly add this to your list of arms to try.

Excelent pics and great info everyone!
A Kuzma... hmmm... never thought of that. What is the armboard like? Would it fit a Rega?

Cheers guys, and thanks for all the info and suggestions!
I am still favouring the Morch, if I can find one 2nd hand...

Anyone knows how much the collet would be to fit a Morch to a spacedeck?

    Cheers!

    Jack,

The Kuzma has a 25mm mount. Take the Rega collet out and it fits straight into the circular mount. It really is beautifully engineered.

Quick update: I have bought a Morch UP-4.
Waiting for it to arrive so no experiences so far... Thanks for all your help with this!

Now, the next step: where is the best place to get a collet for the Morch that fits a Spacedeck rega armboard? How much do you think it will cost me?

Thanks everyone! I am sure I will come back for advice on how to set the thing up! ;)

    I hate you :(

    ;)

Jack - if you need any gen re arm mounts for the NAS just give Penny or Adam a call at Notts Analogue on 01773 762947 or have a chat with Les at Walrus.

Good luck with the arm - I'm officially jealous. :D

    Thanks Gromit.
If you are near London you are welcome to come and hear it once I have it set up.

I will give NAS a ring at the number you mentioned.
    Cheers!

I may well take you up on your kind offer, Jack - thanks :)

Full report must be posted on here when the Morch is up and running of course.

If you are looking for fluid for the Morch, ask either Walrus in the UK or HH himself. Best to avoid anything else.

    Thanks Uncle and Joel.
I spoke with Les and will be getting both the collet and the fluid from him on monday.

Apparently I have to move the armboard of the spacedeck to a new position as the geometry of the morch is different to the Rega. Is this something any of you has done? Is it hard to do?

    Cheers!

No its easy. Take the platter off and you'll see its a single bolt holding it in place. Just loosen it and move it.
