Looking for a new pair of speakers for our front room for about£400 to be played with Roksan Candy 111. Wide variety of musical tastes but mostly Indie and rock.

    Considering -

    B and W 685
    Rega RS 1
    Epos M5i
    Monitor Audio RX 1

Can anyone advise about the character of these choices or maybe even suggest an alternative. Should I stretch the budget and go for Dynaudio?
    Best wishes

Well, this is the point I was at 12 months ago. The best advice is: 'what sounds best to you in your room? All one can compare is build quality and technical specifications.

In my experience, cost new is not necessarily a primary factor.

This won't help but I hope it helps!

What about the AVI speakers advertised here on zerogain?

Considering your rig and musical tastes, I'd look for a used or ex-demo pair from brands such as Heco, ATC, Amphion, Triangle, Neat Acoustics and ProAc too. The new Monitor Audio RX line plays fine with Roksan gear, as did the old RS line, now to be found cheap as old stock all over the place.

    Just my twopence :)
