has anybody had bespoke plinths made ?
Due to their size I have to move the speakers out into the room
a little,I,m looking for some marble or slate numbers that can be used to effectively slide the speakers into position rather than keep lifting the speakers about, can't imagine the continued moving is doing the speakers alot of good either

You can ask HNE but I'd just fit casters to be honest. I trust you have marked the position on the floor?

if the plinthis bolted to the bottom of the speaker you get a number of benifits ...lowered centre of gravity. extra mass , stiffened cabinet. These will all help to produce a better sounding speaker ....Chantry Audio Tuxford, were offering them a couple of years ago might be worth a phone call

How does that work with the Quad 988? What do you bolt to?

the 998 has threaded spike holes .....? the plinth will bolt to them. If not its a question of invention but not insermountable.

    Just to Add
    House has concrete floors

I,m currently lifting either the stages or Quad's onto 2 20KG blocks of slate per side, the blocks work but look total pants,
due to the weight I cannot fix the speakers to the mounts

wife is moaning something along the lines of "make your mind up which pair of those bloody things your gonna keep" so looking for a more easy on the eye solution to positioning & mounting either pair,In an ideal world I would love to hang onto both the pairs, they both have quite differing presentation, but endearing none the less
The room is quite large and is fully carpeted, hence the ability to slide rather than lift, the whole situation is made worse due the the school hol's,my kid's are kinda o.k.with the hifi thing but alas their mates have this irrisistable urge to touch the fronts for no apparent reason so we forever shifting them about
