    FS: TRON NUCLEUS VALVE PREAMP

Really rare opportunity to own an outstanding stylish valve preamp.

I bought this recently as a replacement for my Wavac preamp, it impressed me that much. I have spent fair bit on it having had it serviced and tubes replaced with NOS ECL85 Telefunken and Tung Sol 5687WB. It is amongst the best preamps I have heard. However, I got the Wavac serviced and fitted with a set of NOS Mullards to sell. Then I had a listen to check everything and the result was that the wavac is staying. Considering I think my wavac is the best preamp I have heard – then this must put this in some serious ranking and I've owned a lot of preamps.

So anybody interested in a preamp, which came close to replacing £9000's worth of Wavac preamp? It is quite exceptional, a few extremely small marks on the edge of the case but hardly noticeable, it is much better than the picture which I am afraid shows up everything including slightest dust, fascia and trim is excellent. This is also unusual in that it has a remote control facility; most of these amps were manual only.

Very spacious detailed sound, very involving and looks great too. RCA phono inputs x5 one set of RCA phono out.

    There is a review here:

“It's high time in my opinion for the biggest compliment ever: for the fact that one simply gets glued to the chair. That even the most critical listener gets the key to a crucial holistic experience within minutes. Only very, very few amplifiers take their users beyond this threshold.â€Â

Fluffy sales stuff: To build one these days would be very expensive indeed. The remote version was originally just under £4000 new. An engineer friend put this in a similar league to the Tron Syren (£7000) – I'm sure it isn't but it is good enough to be in the same ball park. A respected Hi Fi dealer has one for sale currently without remote at £1800.

I am happy to take £1500 + collection or postage £30 insured. So bit of a bargain if you ask me. Please PM any questions or interest.
