All the information is posted above. OK I will spill, it is a 2000 T, I said is that a mistake don't you mean 1999 T. He said no it is a 2000 one. I thought something don't add up here so checked the VIN plate and found the stamped on on the chasis had been tampered with. On Fords these are usualy very easy to read and are designed to make it hard for cloners/cut n shutters etc to modify. The plate is very ordinary but there is no such thing as a 2000 T unless the reigstration has been changed. Also how many cars are registrated on new years day? May have been a DVLA mistake and it may have had some welding on the chasis so it could be genuine but I wasn't going to hand over £2k to find out.
Used to be loads. I have not been involved for a while now so no idea how common now, but 1st Jan used to be one of the most popular dates. Some people wanted 1st August for plate change, some wanted 1st Jan for the year. Hence the trade always accomodated and worked that bank holiday.
So that could be geniuine though, but if that is correct the the car has had its plates changed. Why would anybody hand over £2k for a car with an incorrect reg plate for the year and with a chasis number wiped out?
