Can anyone here identify these Tannoy speakers. Are they from the DC range?

I think they are Tannoy DC200. Where's Cooky when you need him?

If you like those, keep an eye out for the Studio 1.
Superbly neutral with lots of scale and authority for a small-ish floorstander.

Lived with a pair driven by a Cyrus2/PSX for a few years and was very happy. Not good in a small room though, which is why they got sold when I moved house.

I think your right, they look very nice for a late 80's speaker:)

It sounds like they make lots of low bass in the video, but if the similar looking ones I heard ar Rob's are anything to go by, they don't have much bass extension. Might work well in your room, but as I was trying to say with regards to small speakers, it will only be because they have no bass.

P.S. I'm wasn't saying small speakers have no bass, only that if they work in a small room where a bigger speaker won't, its probably because that particular speaker has little bass, not intrinsically because its a small speaker. The size of the speaker has little effect on how it interacts with a room IME, its mostly about the bass extension and tuning.

Yep, definitely DC200, I had a pair for about two weeks :). Actually my least favourite pair of Tannoys to date, although to be fair I was comparing them to (when new) much more expensive models.

How much did the DC200 cost new years back?

Actually I have no idea as I bought mine locally 2nd hand, but I always assumed that they would have been considerably less than the other models I've owned; HPD's, Little Red Monitors etc. My assumption was based upon the relatively cheap feel to the cabinets in particular, as they were thin-ish chipboard with plastic veneer, but the driver chassis also appeared insubstantial compared to others I'd had. And they didn't sound as nice :).
