I have dug up my old Linn Intek amp, Linn Helix speakers and Dual 1229 tt. It has been a very long time since I used this system and my lovely wife has suggested that I either get it operational before we move again or sell it. I remember the sound quality being pretty decent however now I find its lacking something. Not sure I have hooked it up correctly and hoping for some help. As an aside, my Linn K20 speaker cables are in storage for the next 3+ months so I bought some speaker wire from hifi store.
The back of the amp has cable hookup for switched or direct. I chose direct. The speakers have 2 positive inputs and 2 negative inputs. Ive only connected the bottom positive and negative terminals. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The upper pair of terminals must be linked to the lower pair as otherwise the tweeters are disconnected. I don't know the specifics of your pair, so it may be that the links are there internally, by default, but usually they are external. Try linking the top and bottom terminals with a short piece of wire, and see it that improves the sound. If the links are already there internally, it won't make any difference, but if not, it should restore the full sound.
