Hey, just as I'd got over my little set too with DV247.com, here we go again...!

On Saturday 28th February I ordered from Stoneaudio via their website a Creek OBH-22 passive preamp and got an e-mail confirming the order. On Tuesday 3rd March just over 300 quid was removed from my account. The confirmation e-mail stated same day despatch but it's now Sunday 8th March and I've heard nothing and received nothing.

Now I don't know about you but if Stoneaudio do not have this item in stock, as far as I'm concerned, they had no right to take the money from my account. I've sent them four e-mails this last week and heard absolutely nothing about the availability of this item. It was they who guaranteed same day despatch not me.

How many of these dealers behave this way...???

    Have you phoned them?

Oh centered text in purple is very hard to read. I have to constantly scold my 12yr olds in class about this.

Dark purple text against a pale grey background is all about contrast. It is contrast that makes things easy to read.
    I haven't phoned them. As I said, I've sent them a few e-mails.

What makes it hard to read is the font. Use Arial.

Well I for one find purple on grey hard on the eyes.
Worse is the centering which, while it has it's place on the title page of a document or a poster is truely dire in normal prose.

All this is totally pointless discussion though as you feel let down by a dealer. It does however beg the question as to why you have not phoned them. I for one wouldn't be relying on just email for contact. I'd be on the phone asking questions if gear hadn't arrived next day.

Possibly you don't have a phone.

Surely expecting same day despatch to mean next day delivery is stretching credulity somewhat?

I too have had an unsatisfactory encounter with Stone Audio (for a smaller amount). They are on my "never do business with this outfit again" list. I believe that they have other unhappy customers.

I've used Stone Audio a couple of times .

The first time they took payment straight away and the goods took around three weeks to arrive , although they never had the item in stock but did quote me 7 days for delivery .

After putting the first experience down to being " one of those things " I tried them again . Once again they took payment instantly but nothing arrived , I gave them a few more days then cancelled my order and they gave me a full refund .

Like other posters I will not use them again , although I don't think they're out to con anyone , they are just very slow .

on a slightly different note - I sent a lens back to Sigma Imaging (30mm f1.4) as it broke when I dropped it....they said the turnaround was 2-3 weeks...that was the 23 Jan....still haven't got it back...

I rang then up about 10 days ago and they said that they were expecting a part at the beginning of last week....

I'm going to ring them (again!) when they open at 10... :(

Stoneaudio are famed for this sort of behaviour.... I've had complete lies from them in the past, claimed to have stuff in stock and 4 weeks later still hadn't sent it.
Cancelled the order and later found the item had not yet been released to market by the manufacturer...

    OK, Ariel it is...

You see, I do sometimes listen.
Mmmm... seems I don't half pick 'em. I honestly thought Stoneaudio were a truly good place to do business with. You lot have just proved that to be totally wrong.
Stoneaudio guarantee same day despatch so I did not under any circumstances expect next day delivery even though their own confirmation of order details state next day delivery. What I do expect is that when a dealer guarantees same day despatch and they take the money from your account, the goods are despatched same day. Delivery is totally out of the hands of the dealer, as one would expect.
I wish I'd run this by you all before ordering. It'll be fourteen days this Saturday and then I shall ring them and find out what is going on. This should not be necessary.

At 09:15 this morning I telephoned Stoneaudio and spoke to a woman who assured me she would get straight onto Creek Audio to find out when this item was due in. She checked my phone number and said she would get straight back in touch. Guess what...??? It's now 14:22 and I've had no phone call. There's a surprise.

Mmm... It's now 14:32 and I've telephoned them again to be told that the OBH-22 will be despatched tomorrow for delivery on Thursday. Do I believe them...? I guess I have to but I also have to be at home all day on the offchance that it arrives.

My main gripe is that they took over 300 quid out of my bank account knowing they did not have this item for sale. I may be wrong but I am fairly sure that Trading Standards in the UK state that you are not allowed to advertise what you do not have for sale. This is a criminal offence.

Thanks for the advice re: Ebay. If I have to I shall go that route and use Paypal.
