I've still got loads of my disertation to sort out and my tutor wants to see it on thursday. The site still has bugs it as well but the last few days have been computing hell.

As for the final straw my main computer decides to die on me tonight I am not sure what the problem is but its refusing to boot half the time and it when it does there are loads of problems with my windows partition, all the internet browsers keep quiting them selves and the colours are displated totaly wrong on the screen.

Luckily I have my Pentium III so I should be able to transfer work across but I just don't need this now.

Its a hardware problem I think, the linux is partition is recked as well, I have bought a new hard drive (I can't format the old one as it contains too much work and I may forget to backup that important file)

All the problems started since I changed that stupid CPU fan.

I find it quite hard to believe that you are even at University in the first place. Your spelling, grammar, etc is appalling for someone in tertiary education.

Times have changed. I blame Tony Blair.

Well, OK, but even scientists need to be able to express their thoughts in a clear manner.

    This:-

"I've still got loads of my disertation to sort out and my tutor wants to see it on thursday. The site still has bugs it as well but the last few days have been computing hell."

means nothing to me at all.

I took it to mean that part of the dissertation is a website which has functional problems, which the OP has been unable to resolve because of PC failure. I am unwilling to be too condemnatory of others' writing ability, as my own mathematical skills are so poor.

I wrote this at 1:30 in the morning, I was tired I have had really bad sleep.

And don't anybody dare say I should not be at university. The amount of stuff I have had to go to through to get this far, I work very hard, pay my fees attend all lectures, hand the work in on time, and get good grades.

Most of what I do is science based i.e maths or programming. My english is perfectly good enough for that, I am capable of checking my work for grammar and spellng errors.

Comments like that just make more more determined to do well.

I know my english and grammar isn't perfect but then we can't be good at everything. Also poor basic skills is a problem with my generation, and I have been through this before.

I didn't say that you shouldn't be there, I said that I found it a little surprising that you were, and I went on to blame Tony Blair for his strange belief that 50% need to attend a University.

Fair enough. Though I can do basic sums in my head, maths (and hence science) went pear-shaped for me once algebra crept in. Letters instead of numbers; what's all that about? A shame really, as what I really wanted to be when I were a lad was an astronomer, but my lowest-ever recorded mark in physics mock 'O' level put paid to that.
