Radioheads "OK Computer" album, done by a string quartet!

In places it's quite weak, but over all it's really quite good!

Well worth a listen for fans of the `head. And would be interested to hear what some of ye old classical folk think of it?

    Amazon have it http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005OW6Q/ref=sr_aps_music_1_1/026-3021404-9813214

And there's also mention of Christopher O'Rileys' "True Love Waits - The Music of Radiohead" which I'll hopefully get to listen to at some point.

I love Radiohead and I'm a big classical fan, but have to say I cannot stand these sort of things generally. Eg, Queen played by the RPO, Beatles by the BBC orchestras etc. I'm never sure if the idea is to get more people into classical, or the other way round, but speaking as someone who enjoys a wide range of music, I cannot see it appealing to many people with narrower tastes. All IMO of course.

Actually, having just said that, I used to love the Kronos Quartet's recording of Purple Haze, so perhaps I should reserve judgement until I hear it properly!

An interesting one like this was by PJ Harvey, on her 'Rid of Me' album, there are two versions of the song Mansize - one hard rocking, the other done with a small string ensemble - pretty amazing and scary.
