I have a 256mb mp3 player ......I've decided to drop a load of tracks on to it but it wont take more than 130mb ....keeps saying unknown error.

doing a properties in 'my computer' shows that it still has 126mb free so its almost exactly half full ?

why can't I get more on it ????

    sounds like possibly knackered memory.
Do a full format on the player and see if it works then.

Does this player have a name?

Sounds like you need to reformat it and try again.

The device cost 1p on ebay [£15 postage !]...... I've squeezed two hours of music on to it but.....as said appears only half full.

There is a txt section but nothing shows up ......

I'm reluctant to do a full format ....yet or as a last resort.

sounds quality is suprisingly good ....once I ditch the supplied earbud headphone thingies. Replaced with a set of noise canceling Senhisers .....We have a twelve hour filght next week ..so I need something to stop myself pulling my hair out.
