    Hey fellas,
Following up on my post last week it turns out the xbox lead was not the cause of the problem, this time I have definitley narrowed it down to the lights downstairs.

Whenever they are turned on in the kitchen or living room, horizontal lines appear on the TV (its a CRT) and my AVi amp sends a small click/pop into the speakers. Probably not good for any of the hardware all around so I'd like to get it sorted, is this fixable with filters/mains conditioners or should I get an electrician around the take a look?

    Cheers,
    Dawson

as I'll bet no one else has ever heard of lights screwing your system in the way you describe I suggest an electrician.

Do you have dimmer switches or some sort of lighting control in the house ?

Is the Tv issue seen when watching DVD,SKY or normal analogue tv ?

Sounds like a mixture of air borne interference and surges in the mains.

Try a Tacima 6 way block from Maplin, they are often on sale at around £30, astonishing value that stands the test against far more exotic mains conditioners, how do I know that? Ive tried 'em.

It really sound weird that your switching on the lights is having an effect on the output. Are you really sure? I for one can't comprehend the unit getting disrupted by such a simple factor.
