    Saw one of these:

in a local hifi store the other day. It was reduced in price from 12,000 Euros  to just 6,000 - a snip :D

It wasn't turned on but of course I had to spin the big wheel in the middle and it has to be one of the most gorgeous rotary controls I've ever used on anything. It is so well balanced and so frictionless that just a gentle spin leaves it spinning for a good 10 seconds or so

Very nice looking kit that TacT stuff. Bit pricey though.

    Beautiful, isn't it :MILD: .

I almost opted for a s/h one of these when it seemed like a 230v version of the TACT S2150 wasn't going to be easy to obtain but thanks to Merlin for sorting that out :D.

As far as i know they aren't that reliable (I may be wrong  ) and needed regular servicing until the later MKII version was released (they're on their 3rd version now). The Millenium also includes a curious 'clock-link' which was destined to be used with a TACT transport but that never seems to have materialised :( .

Believe it or not - it's actually cheaper to get one than 6,000 Euroids  .

    I spotted a s/h one on a site for £2,500 (230v) ;) .

    Spin that wheel :MILD: .

Probably isn't a good thing if you're just trying to set the volume accurately but it's still a gorgeous piece of tactile ergonomics. Perhaps when it's powered on it has magnetic damping...now that would be cool :MILD:

The option to vary the sensitivity [of the volume wheel] is part of the in-built software :MILD: .
