has anyone used a tag AV32r as a dedicated DAC and preamp..

im thinking of getting one to replace my 8000Q as a means of gaining a high end dac a good 2 channel pre and the ability to run home cinema off my main system should i wish to do so?

    any ideas or comments???

also would plan to use the tag CDT20 transport with sync link to get the best out of it.

Early days, but I'd say it's a good step up. The DAC is a significant improvement on the DAC20, but whether this is down to the DAC itself or T2L timing link to the transport, I can't say.
It's a bloody complicated beast, though!

It's definitely a step up from the DAC-20; I sold mine and I don't have the Tag transport either. It's no more complicated than any other AV processor and very straightforward in use. Go for it!
You are welcome to hear mine if you are in London.

Good to hear you like the processor and amp including the bi-amp experiment. I actually find the set up procedure quite fun and maybe it just appeal to my tweaky nature. If you have any question do ask but I am sure you the real fanatical admirers of all things Tag hang out at the avforums.com. Maybe you might even discover a few more new tricks that I have missed.

I have the SP processor for 5 years. Upgraded to the bp192 DAC and DAB module some way alone the line. I don't feel the need to change but having said that if you see any sale on for the DP version would appreciate if you let me know. All this talk about room EQ has certainly stir up some interest to experiment this new found method.
