After seeing this amp mentioned in the pre-amp thread i did some googling on it.
I will be wanting a dedicated pre to replace the Shearne, but it will be a while before this happens.
Anyway, all the comments i found online are very encouraging, along with the few comments on said thread.
I'm keen on the self build, saving is the idea:D
So, is it all it's cracked up to be? Fast, dynamic, neutral....?

    Hi Penance,

The GG, is a cracking pre-amp (for a valve jobbie)
A while back, I was under the mishapprehension I was missing something ( I admit it, I was fooled for a moment or 2)
Lilolee suggested this vastly under rated piece of kit, as for valves it has dynamics and get up and go, but did it in a natural unforced way :)
I'd tried a raft of Pre amps, from £$ to pound land gear, only the Spectral did the biz but far too much ££££ for me.
I duly ordered one of these highly recommended pre's, it duly arrived all sorted, nice intructions (not thta you really need em')
all quality components, had 'proper feel to it'
I built it, gave it a couple of weeks run in.
What can I say, very nice, great sound, transparent, clean, quite quick too, and lively, nice illumination after hours :D
Not quite what I'm looking for, however as you know, I live on a different plane for you guys, bottom Line Quality sound, excellent parts, easily trashes most of the usual gear available here, tweeks are also easy too :)
I had a Lamm pre I bought at the same time, it was a close call, but I reckon the GG was 95% of the Lamm, which was 10 times the price (in $).
A pair of blue leds has since cured me of any thoughts I had of a pre, but those in the market for a quality sound, at a rediculious price, should overlook this at their peril. throughly recommended Wm

looks tasty, Penace, either get 1 or both of rozenblit's books, i think it is in the 2nd audio reality, but IMHO this book is naff, but I think Ggrid is therein.
